I’m working this weekend, so I’m looking forward to Monday and baby girl snuggles all day! I hope that you, however, are having a fun, work-free weekend! Here are some links to enjoy.
The Tension Between Should and Can I get stuck. I want to please everyone. I struggle to meet the unspoken expectations that I place on myself, and that I imagine others place on me. I read what I should or could be doing every day in my blog and Instagram feeds. I see something neat and think – I could do that! I could add that to my schedule. But honestly – sometimes I can’t, and sometimes I shouldn’t, and sometimes it is both. If you are ever in that place, this read will refresh and calm you.
Trust Issues – With God? We have been hurt. We have had trust betrayed – again and again. No matter who you are, it has happened to you at some point. We begin to close ourselves off, to be slow to trust anyone. Does that extend to God? Anxiety and worry are so very real – not simply “all in your head.” But do you know (and I say this gently and from experience) what they reveal? In part, they may reveal that you do not trust God, even if you think you do. Take your time reading this one, and let the questions peer into the innermost parts of your heart. Don’t be afraid.
A Handy Rule for Making Wise Decisions I struggle with making wise decisions. Every single day. Multiple times a day. I am learning, and trying to keep putting the principles I learned in women’s Bible study last year into practice. And yet I forget. I love this handy little rule – it helps me get to the core of the matter quickly and keep from falling prey to emotional decisions or old (unwise) thought patterns.
Whole 30 Super Bowl Snacks! Yes, I’m working this weekend. Which means I couldn’t have my favorite Velveeta-Salsa-Burger dip even if I wanted it. I’ll be on my way to an airport when the kickoff happens. Buuuut, if I was home I would absolutely make some of these snacks and track the score on my phone (because no cable, because paying down debt!) They look so yummy, I might go ahead and make some for Valentine’s Day anyway. I know a certain Norseman who would be mighty happy with some of these!
Happy Weekend! Go Panthers! 😉
