This one is so easy – easy to do, and easy to put off. But it works like a charm every time. Every single night this week, do the dishes and wipe down the counter. If you are groaning at the stack in the sink right now, and need extra motivation: go to e.ggtimer.com. Enter 15 or 20 minutes (gauge it by the size of the pile and state of the counters). Turn on Pandora, iTunes, YouTube; wherever you go for your favorite motivational music. Set the timer. Turn on the music. Clean. Go do it. You can, I promise. I’ve been there. And when you’re through, rejoice in the beautiful cleanliness of your kitchen.
*Don’t attempt to declutter your counters right now, unless you are super motivated. Just get them clean. If there is too much clutter to wipe them down, grab a basket or box, and dump everything off of them into the box. You can process it later, on another more motivated day.
